Judge: Florida Teacher Who Soaked Autistic Kid's Crayons in Hot Sauce Should Get Job Back
I am beyond angry at this. The teacher does not deserve her job back.
Rage. Just…holy shit.
Saw that on the news late last night and had to leave the room.
I think this is something ASAN needs to get on.
HOT SAUCE?!
Jesus, if they were soaked for days they could have SERIOUSLY hurt a small child.
And the kid in question? A kindergartener.

Persons with autism can frequently mouth things due to sensory integration issues. They aren’t doing it intentionally or with volition. It’s a SENSORY issue, and aversive tactics don’t “make it stop” and in fact, may make it worse.
