Both youths detained until age 21.
Football is NOT a religion. Rape is NOT a sport.
They reconstructed the events of the evening by retrieving texts from 17 participants.
The judge was “struck by the ugliness”.
And you tell me Islamophobia doesn’t exist.

The White House “We the People” petition site allows citizens to create online petitions that guarantee a WH response if 25,000 signatures are generated within 30 days.
Well, the petition to “Legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.” blew past that and already has 260,617 signatures in just 12 days. Well, probably more signatures and 13 days by the time you’re reading this.
The petition plainly reads:
This group has been recognized as a hate group by organizations, such as The Southern Poverty Law Center, and has repeatedly displayed the actions typical of hate groups.
Their actions have been directed at many groups, including homosexuals, military, Jewish people and even other Christians. They pose a threat to the welfare and treatment of others and will not improve without some form of imposed regulation.
Signed and forwarded!
This comes after the hate group’s supremely evil and dickish plans to protest the funerals of those slain in the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings.

It happened about 3:45 Wednesday morning at a house on Timber Lane in phase-1 of the subdivision called The Woods. The owner’s son said he heard a loud noise outside of his bedroom window, looked out and saw the ground below on-fire. He called 9-1-1, then put out the fire. Police say they smelled gasoline and found what appeared to be a broken and burned mason jar, lying on the ground below the window.
Why isn’t this in the news? WHY. ISN’T. THIS. IN. THE. NEWS.

HATE GRAFFITI AT MUSLIM CEMETERY IN EVERGREEN PARK, CHICAGO
On August 16, 2012, a Palestinian American man went to pay respects to his deceased father at Evergreen Cemetery and was horrified to see anti-Muslim hate graffiti on a number of Muslim graves. Evergreen Cemetery is home to at least 500 Muslim graves. Cemetery officials and the police have been notified. The cemetery is located at 3401 West 87th Street, Evergreen Park, IL 60805.
absolutely horrifying
Interestingly, in the area where @RepJoeWalsh has been preaching that “Muslims are out to kill Americans, every week”. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/08/13/679561/gop-rep-joe-walsh-muslims-are-trying-to-kill-americans-every-week/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&mobile=nc

In the past 10 days, there have been eight cases of vandalism and attacks on houses of worship across the nation, including the deadly shooting spree in a Sikh gurdwara in Wisconsin on Aug. 5. The other seven incidents were mosque defacements, which have sent a tremor of fear through America’s Muslim community.
Maybe @RepJoeWalsh should tell Americans a little more than Muslims are planning to kill Americans? http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/08/13/679561/gop-rep-joe-walsh-muslims-are-trying-to-kill-americans-every-week/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&mobile=nc

Of course, the right-wing doesn’t think these are acts of terrorism. Spread this around — it’s important to know who is really doing the damage and why.
Read this article by Think Progress called “Republicans Blasted Obama Administration For Warning About Right-Wing Domestic Terrorism” — it has more information about this topic.

In 2009, the Department of Homeland Security reported that white supremacy is the US’s biggest threat for domestic terror, but it was met with harsh criticism. Conservatives like John Boehner (R-OH) blasted the department for defining terror threats too broadly, instead of focusing on potential Islamic terrorists.
